Monkey King

the humans always know their place
hide their face
save their race
and bow fast when the monkey king comes around

he rules with an iron law
savage paw
monkey claw
we never think of crossing thoughts with actions

gold scepter in his furry hand
his command
makes us stand
we know that hope is only for the foolish

should you gaze into his eye
you say goodbye
it's time to die
consistent in his ruthless logic rampage

no wrong or doubt is seen or done
he would come
eat your young
while chatting with you all about the weather

our land is flush for all to see
and we agree
to loyalty
our king, our lord, our nightmare everlasting

This poem came about one night after m gaze was pulled towards a poster of (not suprisingly) a monkey wearing a crown. I felt an instant loyalty to this king, whom i knew was the rightful leader for his people.
