Rubber Ball

the doors we walk through must be shut
before they can be seen
the windows which we often screen
transparently reflect our mean

the walls around us seem to thrive
on sealing us from floral lives

too often there's no rubber ball
been missing for so long
once thrown too hard, forever gone
the lesson learned was mostly wrong

can you remember what you knew
when everything was teaching you

the mind can learn itself to teach
your cup should never fill
keep in mind all movement stems from
the need to be still

The first two lines of this poem materialized in my brain while i was in the bathroom at my kung fu club. I wasn't sure if it made any sense but i thought i'd jot it down anyways. Being the bathroom with no pen i had to text message the words to myself using my cell phone! The rest of the poem came together later that evening while i was standing in the steam room at my gym.
